Job Description
We are seeking a Head of English to work across grades 6 - 12, with IBDP and/or AP experience. An ideal candidate will be flexible and excited to lead and cooperate with a team of dynamic, professional English teachers to plan, deliver, and assess student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. The Head of English at ZIS will hold high expectations for colleagues and students and will be comfortable differentiating content and instruction in all courses. Interest/experience in concept based curriculum development and project based learning, together with evidence of portfolio-based assessment strategies will be an advantage.
Applicants should have at least 3 years of previous experience teaching English, ideally with experience as a Head of Department, preferably at an international school. A Swiss or EU passport will be a distinct advantage. Applicants must furnish evidence of:
- Teaching certification, including specialism
- Head of English experience
- Experience in concept based curriculum development
- Documented record of excellence in teaching
- BA or equivalent university degree
- Integration of technology into curriculum
- Learner-centered focus
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs
- Teamwork, collaboration, and active participation in school life
