Job Title: Restaurant Manager

Job Description:

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the restaurant. This includes ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high quality of food and drinks, managing staff, and driving profitability. The Restaurant Manager must also comply with all health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on matters of importance.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Review and monitor, with the executive chef or other culinary personnel, portion size, quality, and presentation of food to ensure it adheres to established standards.
  • Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage shifts which include daily decision-making, scheduling, and planning.
  • Coordinate with marketing and business development teams to implement restaurant promotions and special events.
  • Train and develop team members to provide excellent customer service and foster a positive working environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of business management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety rules, regulations, procedures, and standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software, like OpenTable and POS systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, conflict management abilities, and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Flexibility to work during weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Preferred Skills:
  • Certifications in food service management, food safety, or relevant field.
  • Experience in menu development.
  • Good understanding of helpful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities.
