Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Pipeline Engineer with expertise in numerical modelling. As a key member of the SAGE Profile team, you will play a crucial role in the design, optimization, testing and documentation of the software and provide support to our worldwide client base.
Responsibilities:
Pipeline Design and Analysis
- Assist in the design and analysis of pipeline systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Write software specifications and verify implementation for pipeline design aspects.
- Maintain certification in various fields such as route optimization, laydown analysis, out of straightness, free-span detection, on-bottom roughness analysis, thermal expansion, upheaval and lateral buckling, VIV and fatigue estimation.
Numerical Modelling
- Utilize numerical modelling techniques to simulate pipeline system behavior and performance.
- Conduct stress analysis, fluid flow simulations, and structural integrity assessments.
- Define and update validation cases for SAGE Profile software.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to SAGE Profile clients.
- Assist with software installation, modeling best practices, and results analysis.
- Prepare and deliver training sessions for clients, both remote and onsite.
- Offer assistance via Teams, phone, or email.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive technical brochures and user manuals.
- Include practical guides, theory explanations, and procedures to model according to industry standards.
- Document design changes, assumptions, and methodologies for future reference
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, and project managers.
- Ensure seamless project execution.
- Communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional coursework or specialization in numerical modelling, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or structural analysis is highly desirable.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in pipeline engineering or a related field, with a demonstrated focus on numerical modelling.
- Familiarity with software packages such as ANSYS, Abaqus, CESAM, FatFree, SimBuck, Cesar, Orcaflex, or COMSOL is advantageous.
- Prior experience with SAGE Profile is beneficial
Work Permit and Language Requirements:
- Possession of a valid work permit allowing employment within the European Union.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Portuguese and Chinese is desirable for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in numerical modelling techniques, including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis.
- Highly desirable to have knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to pipeline design (e.g., DNV-ST-F101, DNV-RP-F105, DNV-RP-F109, ISO 15589, ISO 19345, API RP-1111).

- Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and reliability of modelling results.
