We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to join our company.
As the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring effective utilization of resources.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Director and dotted to the Country Leader, you will be responsible to provide leadership to Facilities teams.
As a Financial Controller, your daily responsibilities will include:
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis to facilitate decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Regional Finance Director to develop financial strategies and policies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Country Leader and senior management team to optimize financial performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational targets.
- Conduct budget reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide accurate financial projections for future business planning.
Financial Analysis and Insights:
- Perform financial analysis, including profitability analysis, pricing analysis, and investment evaluation, to support decision-making processes.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on financial insights, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the financial viability of new projects and initiatives.
Tax and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and oversee tax-related activities, including the preparation and submission of statutory returns.
- Manage Value Added Tax (VAT) processes, including timely and accurate reporting, reconciliation, and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation of Corporate Income Tax (CIT) calculations, liaising with external tax advisors if required.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address tax-related queries and audits.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and manage the Finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to enhance team productivity and professional growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance within the Finance department.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Facilities Management:
- Provide dotted-line supervision and support to the Facilities department, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to safety and compliance regulations.
- Collaborate with the Facilities team to develop and monitor departmental budgets and expenses related to facility maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
To succeed in the role, you will need to have:
- A' Class signature in order to sign statements.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficient in financial software applications and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to travel for training purposes.
- Good organization / time management skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Ability to influence behavior.
- Must hold EU citizenship or valid work permit for Greece
- Be a local candidate or willing to relocate to historic Athens, Greece
Education and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial role within a BPO or multinational call center environment.
